Palm Sunday
March 29, 10:00am at Upside Down
Join us for Palm Sunday as we celebrate Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, marking the start of ‘Holy Week.’ Let’s shout for joy and sing “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Let us remember that our King has come to defeat the works of darkness and bring the Kingdom of Heaven into our daily lives.
Palm Sunday also marks the beginning of our church’s annual, corporate three-day fast. We fast to cultivate longing and openness to our King who has come and is to come fully and finally!
Three-Day Fast
Palm Sunday (March 29) to Tuesday evening (March 31)
At the start of Holy Week each year we hold a corporate three-day fast, asking God to pour out His Spirit for the salvation of our lost friends, coworkers, family, and neighbors. We are cultivating prayerful desperation for God to save the lost around us. Fasting presses us nearer to God to move mightily in our community as we approach Resurrection Sunday. As a church, we are repenting of our fear of man and asking God for courage to speak of Jesus with people everyday. We start the fast on Palm Sunday and end it together on Tuesday evening at the Christ in the Passover Seder Dinner.
Christ in the Passover Seder Dinner
March 31, 5:30pm at Upside Down
Join us for a Passover Seder as we celebrate the end of our three-day fast! This powerful dinner event, led by Isaac Brickner of Jews for Jesus, is an exploration of the beautiful symbolism of the Jewish ceremonial meal called a “seder.” We’ll weave the story of the exodus and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
For those fasting with us, please anticipate that dinner will not be served right at 5:30pm. Dinner is to follow the Passover program.
You do not need to have fasted to join us!
Good Friday Tenebrae Service
April 3, 7:30-9:00pm at Upside Down
Followers of Jesus participate in the sacrifice of our King for sin in order to defeat death's grip on the world and reunite us into the life of God. Through shared liturgy, collective readings, and the story of scripture we get swept in to the collision between the goodness of God's love and the brutality of evil in our world.
Also, please note that childcare will not be available during the Good Friday Tenebrae Service. As this is a somber, candlelit service, we kindly ask that younger children not attend.
Easter Sunday
April 5, 10:30am at Upside Down
Join us on Easter Sunday as we participate in the victory of Jesus' resurrection from death and pouring forth of life into the world.
Take the opportunity to invite a few friends outside the church to join in hearing the glorious good news of the gospel and share in a celebration lunch to follow.
*Please note the time change!
